Q:I love that you and Chris reblogged that. I just... I don't get why people can't just let things be the way they are? I understand the "make everything better" mentality... but look at it now. It's a monster. It's making 3 year old girls think they need to be thin. It's perfecting nature and the best part of the nature is that it's NOT perfect. Passionate rant haha.
I agree with you 100%.
The real problem (I think) is that society has ever-changing ideals. The pin-up models from back in the day, were never thought of as “real women”. they too were the idealized version of what a woman “should be”.
Does it give a completely distorted lens on reality? Of course. But all you can do is keep true to your own ideals, and teach the youth to keep true to their own.
